Athena is unlike other Greek Gods a mankind friend and among her virtues she is the goddess of wisdom which is shown in The Odyssey where she acts as an advocate in several moments using her great intellect to trick the ones against this proteges, she knows how to make the characters do what she considers has to be done.
She guides, helps and protects Odysseus through his journey back home.
