Answer:

The complete equation ⇒ The square root of ( x + 16 ) = 20

======================================================

Explanation:

Dock has a shape of square.

the side length of the new dock is 20 feet

So, The area of the new dock = 20 * 20

∴ The square root of (new area )= 20

∵ New area = original area + incremented area

∴ The square root of ( original area + incremented area) =20

But the area of the original dock = x

And, The area of the dock will increase by 16 square feet

∴ The square root of ( x + 16 ) = 20
