IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, or The International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List of Threatened Species, is a the world's most comprehensive catalog, containing information regarding to animal, plant and fungi species with regard to the their conservation status.
The purpose of this list was to highlight the situation of global diversity through critical assessment of species, thereby eliciting appropriate action through policy changes to protect and conserve species that contribute to the world's biodiversity.
