Slope is the rate of change, it tells you how much you go up or down when you move 1 to the right.

To find the slope you just need 2 points

The easiest points to use are the intercepts ( points on the x,y axis)

On the graph you will see the line cross the y-axis at 6 and x-axis at 3.

The points are (0,6) and (3,0)

Slope =
(0-6)/(3-0) = -2

Also an easy way to check the sign of the slope is to move your finger along the line from left to right.

If you are going uphill, then slope is ALWAYS positive

If you are going downhill, then slope is ALWAYS negative
