The solution set of the compound inequality is any number less than 2 and greater than 7. This means its all the numbers on the number line from 1.99999 to 0 to -9 to -1000 and so forth. And it's also any number greater than 7 including 7.01 to 1000 to 1,000,000. See the graph below to visually see the solution. The solution are all the numbers along the x-axis in the shaded regions.
