Answer:

x = 7

Explanation:

the smallest common denominator between 2 3 and 6 is 6. Multiply the original equation by 6

  • 6(x/3 + x/6 = 7/2)
  • 6(x / 3) = 2x
  • 6(x/6) = x
  • 6(7/2) = 3*7 = 21

Result

  • 2x + x = 21
  • 3x = 21
  • 3x/3 = 21/3
  • x = 7

Check

  • 7/3 + 7/6 = 7/2
  • 14/6 + 7/6 = ? 7/2
  • 21/6 =? 7/2
  • 21/6 = 3.5
  • 7/2 = 3.5

Answer: x = 7
