To find : Area

Solution :

First calculate the area of rectangle ABKL = length *width = 12*10 = 120 square units

Now subtract the area of rectangle CDFE and HGJI from the rectangle ABKL to get the area of given figure

Area of CDEF = Area of HGJI since the length and width of the rectangles is smae

Thus Area of CDEF = length *width =5*7 = 35 square units

Thus the Area of HGJI = 35 square units

Now subtract the area of both rectangles from the area of ABKL

⇒120-(35+35)= 50 square units .

Thus the area of given figure LETTER E = 50 square units .
