Ok theres two questions I need the equation and answer. Please help!!

1. Write an equation of the line in slope intercept form that has a slope -2/3 and has a y-intercept of -4

2. Write and equation of a line in slope intercept form that passes through the points (3 , -2) and (1 , 4)

Answer:

1) y = -2/3x - 4

2) y = -3x + 7

Explanation:

1) Plug in the slope (m) and y intercept (b) into the equation

y = mx + b

y = -2/3x - 4

2) Find the slope (m) m = y₂ - y₁/ x₂ - x₁

m = 4 - (-2)/1 - 3

m = 6/-2

m = -3

Then find the y intercept (b) by plugging x, y and m into y = mx + b (you can choose either point given

4 = -3 ( 1) + b

4 = -3 + b

Add 3 to both sides

7 = b

So now you know m = -3 and b = 7

Plug into y = mx + b

y = -3x + 7
