I'm currently in the 4th grade and working on one of my assignments. I'm not too sure how to solve this problem: "John bought 9 CDs. Some of then cost $12.75, and the rest cost $11.95. The total was 112.

I'd really appreciate it if someone were to help me solve this, and explain how you got the answer.
