Answer:

1.488

Explanation:

Let x be the price of a veggie wrap and y be the price of an apple.

2x + 3y = 6.24 [EQUATION 1]

3x + 2y = 6.64 [EQUATION 2]

[You need 2 equations for this question because there are 2 unknowns, the prices of a veggie wrap and an apple.]

[You can use elimination or substitution to calculate the equations. I'll just use elimination]

ELIMINATION:

[EQUATION 1 * 3] - [EQUATION 2 * 2]:

(2x + 3y)*3 - (3x + 2y)*2 = (6.24*3) - (6.64*2)

6x + 9y - 6x - 4y = 18.72 - 13.28

5y = 5.44

y = 1.088

[since y is the price of an apple and NOT a veggie wrap, you still need to find x]

sub (substitute) y = 1.088 into [EQUATION 1]

2x + 3(1.088) = 6.24

2x = 6.24 - 3.264

x = 1.488

An apple costs 1.088 and a veggie wrap costs 1.488.
