Protestant women had been around long before the 1920s, however, the suffrage for women was, in fact, an objective reached by 1920 and the flapper as a new lifestyle also surfaced during this time. Working women also happened to become more prominent during the '20s, when a lot of men went to war and the necessity was created to occupy these vacancies in fields prominently dominated by men such as Medicine.
