If a ray passing from one medium to other medium then it will refract either away from normal or towards the normal
This all we can find out using snell's law
![\mu_1sin\theta_1 = \mu_2sin\theta_2](https://img.qammunity.org/2020/formulas/physics/high-school/y5tll2t7m90x428ncw8qi22k2808k8u4fe.png)
now if we wish to find the angle inside other medium then we will have
![sin\theta_2 = (\mu_1)/(\mu_2) sin\theta_1](https://img.qammunity.org/2020/formulas/physics/high-school/eyffvp5smt9b94aergid1nbwubex3k1fe9.png)
now if second medium is given optical denser
so we will have
![\mu_2 > \mu_1](https://img.qammunity.org/2020/formulas/physics/high-school/qfvf3njousrispug7hhg4c4xw31o33tz5k.png)
so here we will have
![\theta_2 < \theta_1](https://img.qammunity.org/2020/formulas/physics/middle-school/atywn34td2h28bv36vmql7edhzn2wydj19.png)
so here we can say that ray will bend toward the normal as angle is decreased here
