On the periodic table, what is used to determine the order of elements? (Use your own words? Help please!!!

in periodic table, elements are arranged according to atomic number; beginning with Hydrogen at 1, Helium at 2 n so on. atomic number represents the no. of proton or electron each neutral element has.

Elements are listed in order of increasing atomic number from the left to the right.
