Answer: The volume is decreasing here .

The rate of change = -0.25

Explanation:

Given: In a graph , coordinate plane with x-axis labeled Number of Hours and y-axis labeled Volume in Liters.

The graph of a line contains the points: (1, 2) and (3, 1.5)

From the points, change in volume = change in y

⇒ Change in volume =
y_2-y_1=1.5-2=-0.5

Change in time = change in x

⇒ Change in hours=
x_2-x_1=3-1=2

The rate of change for a graph is given by:-

\text{The rate of change }=\frac{\text{change in y}}{\text{change in x}}=(-0.5)/(2)\\\Rightarrow\text{The rate of change }= -0.25

Since, the rate of change is negative , therefore, the volume of water decreases.
