The answer is D, reason being is energy is needed for the solutes to move from an area of low concentration to an area of high concentration. Facilitated diffusion, osmosis, and diffusion are all examples of passive transport (they do not need ENERGY), because they are all of processes in which solutes move from areas of higher concentration to areas of lower concentration.
