(c) Emma changed her statement to say that when you multiply two negative decimals and a positive decimal, the product will be positive. Is Emma's new statement always true, sometimes true, or always false? Write two equations to support your answer

The statement is always true.

Let's take -.12*-.5*.2

-.12*-.5*.2=.012

And:
-.2*-.4*.3=.024

A positive multiplied by a positive is, obviously, a positive.

The result of two negative numbers multiplying together is always positive.

So, negative*negative*positive is a positive answer.

Answer:

True

-1.5 x -0.5 x 0.5 = 0.375

-2.1 x 0.1 x -0.1 = 0.021

Explanation:

the product of two negatives is always positive

so if you have a negative, negative positive its products are like this:

(-)(-)(+) = +

(-)(+)(-) = +

(+)(-)(-) = +

no matter which way they are multiplied its always positive
