Answer:

2 books are left

Explanation:

Given:

Total books Lamont have = 30

Each Box holds = 7 books

To find:

Books left over = ?

Solution:

He has total books = 30

One box will hold = 7 books

Now we have to find that how many books are left when he will fill each box completely

So it means that he can not have a half box filled he have to fill a box complete and then he can go to other box.

Now

Number of boxes he need for all 30 boxes =
(Total books)/(No of books per box hold)

Number of boxes he need for all 30 boxes =
(30)/(7)

Number of boxes he need for all 30 boxes = 4.28 boxes

as there could not 4.28 boxes

so the integer near to 4.28 is 4

so we will have 4 boxes in total

Now 4 boxes will hold = 4 * 7 books

= 28 books

No of books left = 30 -28

= 2 books

So he will have a total of 4 boxes in which 28 books can be stored and books left are 2
