"For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent" is one of the grievances listed in the Declaration of Independence. How does today's U.S. government address this issue?

By dividing state and national government
By guaranteeing the right to free speech
By holding elections for the legislature
By imposing term limits on the chief executive

I believe the answer is B. "By guaranteeing the right to free speech". According to the article Founding.com The Stamp Tax of the early 1760's was the first major cause of the quarrel between the Americans and the British. It occasioned the first strong articulation of the principles of the Declaration by James Otis in 1764, entitled "The Rights of the British Colonies Asserted and Proved." The principle "no taxation without representation" was soon extended to the whole conduct of government. Not just taxes, but all acts of government must be by "the consent of the governed."

have a good day!

Answer:

Today's US government addresses this issue by holding elections for the legislature.

Step-by-step explanation:

During the American Revolution, one of the main grievances that the colonists suffered at the hands of the British was the high tax rate that they had imposed on the colonies. Under the slogan "no taxation without representation", the settlers protested the lack of participation in the tax decision making regarding the colonies.

Today, this issue is resolved through the legislative elections, in which citizens elect the Representatives and Senators who will make up the Congress. As the laws on tax matters are entered by the House of Representatives, and this is composed of members elected by the citizenship, today there is representation in the taxation process.
