Given y = A sin (Bx + C) + D

  • amplitude is | A |
  • period is
    \bold{\frac{2\pi}{\text{B}}}
  • phase shift is
    {-\frac{\text{C}}{\text{B}}}
  • vertical shift is D

A cos function is the same as a sin function.

A tan function has a period of π, so the period is
\frac{\pi}{\text{B}}
