C_(old)=2 \pi r = 2 * \pi * 3 = 6 \pi.

Now double the radius so that
r=6 then


C_(new)=2\pi r= 2 * \pi * 6 = 12\pi.

So the circumference is multiplied by


(C_(new))/(C_(old))=(12\pi)/(6\pi)=2

when the radius is doubled.
