She was born on February 27th (Diminican independence day),therefore her second name.She was a devoted lady,very religious She wanted to be a nun but gave up this idea and married a farmer named Pedrito Gonzales when she was sixteen,

After witnessing the atrocities dictator Trujillo made to her people she decided to fight against the regime. She was murdered together with her sisters Minerva and Maria Teresa.

All three of them are considered heroines of the Dominican Republic.
