Answer:

Aliyah will be able to serve 20 people.

Explanation:

In order to get this answer, you will divide the amount of pies by the amount of slices she would like to cut.

1. Convert 2 1/2 into an improper fraction: 5/2

2. Flip 1/8 into 8/1: (You do this to the divisor and change it to it's reciprocal)

3. You now multiply 5/2*8/1 to get 40/2

4. You now simplify 40/2 to get 20

Hope this helps! :)

Answer:

20 people

Explanation:

To determine the number of people she can serve , take the number of pies and divide by the size of each slice

2 1/2 pies ÷ 1/8 pie

Change the mixed number into an improper fraction

2 1/2 = (2*2+1)/2 = 5/2

5/2 ÷1/8

Copy dot flip

5/2 * 8/1

40/2

20

She can serve 20 people
