In 1997, a lamb called dolly was the first mammal to be successfully cloned using cells taken from an adult donor.

Three sheeps were used
1. DONOR SHEEP, unfertilized eggs are taken from the donor and the nucleus is removed from these eggs

2. Udder Cells (body cells) are taken from the SECOND SHEEP and the nucleus from these cells are placed inside the empty egg. This forms an embryo.

3. The embryo is placed inside the uterus of a THIRD SHEEP. This sheep is called the surrogate mother.

Which sheep is Dolly genetically identical too? Explain

it would be a clone of sheep 2 as the nucleus comes from sheep 2 and the nucleus is where all of the genetic information is stored so dolly would be genetically identical to sheep 2, hope this helps
