Part A

First of all write the function.

Let x = the number of hours traveled. The y intercept is the value when x = 0

y = 2x + 50 Every 1 hour, the speed increases by 2 mph

(1) The y intercept is 0,50

(2) The car was travelling at 50 mph to begin with.

Part B

Average speed = total distance covered / time interval

Distance between 1 and 2 = 52 + (54 - 52)/1 = 54

Distance between 2 and 3 = 54 + (56 - 54)/1 = 56

Average = (54 + 56)/2 = 55

Part C

I don't see how Part C has any answer. It must change motion even if it winds up where it started from (in which case the velocity cannot be both 60 and 0 at the same time)

I think they want you to answer 0.
