For a certain manufacturer, only ⅘ of the items produced are not defective. If 2,000 items are manufactured in a month, how many are not defective?

Total=2,000

Another way to express this total is 5/5.

In order to find 4/5 of 2,000, take 2,000/5 to get 400. Then, take the 400 and multiply it by 4 to get 1600.

1600 of the items are not defective.
