The critics of America’s new industrial economy were Henry George, Edward Bellamy and Eugine Debs. Henry critized Georgism and proposed three things: workers should own what they produce, value of natural resources belong to everyone equally and that competition is destructive in any sense. Edward, a Major Marxist writing, critized that the Socialist utopia was a giant monopoly, so he wrote “Looking Backward” Which was one of the most remarkable books ever published in the USA that created a mass movement of a political nature almost immediately after its appearance called Nationalism. Finally, Eugene, a Socialist Party nominee for President, was an advocated for racial and sex rights (good enough at that time); she organized the American railway union and was an advocated for racial and sex rights by then.
