A rectangle has a width one less than the length. If the perimeter is 30 units find the width and length please help show step by step

Let x = width, then 3x - 1 = length

Perimeter = 2(length) + 2(width)

So, 2(3x - 1) + 2x = 30

6x - 2 + 2x = 30

8x = 32

width = x = 4 inches

length = 3x -1 = 11 inches
