The owner of a gift shop keeps holiday decorations in a rectangular box that has a a volume of 30 cubic feet. The length of the box is 4 feet and the hight of the box is 2.5 feet. What is the width of the box?

Explanation:

Given,

Volume of a box = 30 cubic feet

Length of box= 4 feet

Height of box = 2.5 feet

We need to find width of box.

Since, Volume of box = Length * Height * width

Now plug values for volume, length and height in the above formula and find width.

So,

30 = 4 * 2.5 * Width

30 = 10 * width

Width = 30 /10 = 3 feet

Hence width of box is 3 feet.
