a store advertises that customers can take 25% off the original price and ten take an extra 10% off. is this the same as a 35% off discount?explain

Explanation:

Lets say the price is 100 dollars. Lets start with the 25 and then 10 percent off. Since its 25% off we need to multiple the 100 dollar price by .75.

100*.75=75

Now that we have the 75 dollar price, we need to take off the 10%. We need to multiply the current price of 75 by .9

75*.9=67.5

The price after these 2 discounts is $67.50

Now lets do the 35% off right away. Since is 35% off we need to multiple our right of 100 by .65.

100*.65=65

The price after the 35% off is $65

So no, they are not the same.
