Answer:

Steve's lunch is $8.00

Explanation:

First you have to make a formula for this almost.

s= Steve's lunch

y= your lunch

s= y-3

s+y-19

then plug in s

y-3+y=19

Then simplify 2y-3=19

Add the three to both sides 2y=22

Divide both sides by 2 y=11

Last plug y into one of your formulas

s=Y-3

s=11-3

s=8

BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR ANSWER S+Y=19 11+8=19 :)
