Answer:

f(x) = -7

Step-by-step explanation: Subsitute 1 to get your y point

f(x) = 2^x - 9

f(x) = 2^1 - 9

f(x) = 2 - 9

f(x) = -7

So, the y point is -7. As an ordered pair, it is (1, -7)

Hope this helps you!!! :)

Happy New Year from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:

y = -7

Discussion:

A somewhat obscure question. By f containing the point (1,y) I think they mean f(1) = y. As

f(x) = 2^x - 9 =>

f(1) = 2^ (1) - 9 = 2 - 9 = -7 = y

so y = -7

Thank you,

MrB
