1 / 2(a + b )h
using the formula above for finding area of trapezoids
a= 20in.
b=29.2in.
h= height= 12.5in.
(a+b)=20+29.2=49.2in.
(a+b)h= (49.2)12.5= 49.2×12.5=615in.
1/2(a+b)h= 1/2 × 615 in.= 615/2= 307.5in.
therefore the area of the trapezoid is 307.5in.

Answer:

Area of trapezoid is:

307.5 in²

Explanation:

The area(A) of a trapezoid is given by:

A=(1)/(2)* (sum\ of\ parallel\ sides)* Height

Here, Sum of Parallel sides=(20+29.2) in.

=49.2 in.

and Height= 12.5 in.

A=(1)/(2)* 49.2* 12.5

⇒ A=307.5

Hence, Area of trapezoid is:

307.5 in²
