Supposed to pay $32 for a pair of shoes that was originally $40 what was the percent of the decrease in price of the shoes set up a proportion and solve.

Answer: 20% decrease.

Explanation:


Percent\ Change = (New - Original)/(Original)


(32-40)/(40) = (-8)/(40) =-0.20 = -20\%

The negative sign represents a decrease.
