90% of the genes = 90/100 * 24000 = 2160000 / 100 = 21600 Genes that are in common

The ones that differ are 24000 - 21600 = 2400. There are easier ways of doing this. For example the number that are different is 10%

24000 * 10/100 = 240000/100 = 2400
