Explanation:

Plug x = 0 into the equation given to find that

y = 3 + 1.5*x = 3 + 1.5*0 = 3

Meaning that at the start, plant 2 is 3 cm tall. Now plug in x = 1

y = 3 + 1.5*x = 3 + 1.5*1 = 4.5

Now plant 2 is 4.5 cm tall. It has grown 1.5 cm since the first measurement. This is the rate of growth. It grows 1.5 cm per day

Compare this to the table and we see that the rate of growth here is 2 cm per day. Each time x increases by 1 in the table, y increases by 2 (eg: from 1.5 to 3.5)

So we see that plant 1 (table) has a larger growth rate compared to plant 2 (equation).
