Answer:

y = 0.5x

Explanation:

The equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

y = 0.5x - 2 ← is in slope- intercept form

with slope m = 0.5

Parallel lines have equal slopes, thus

y = 0.5x + c ← is the partial equation

To find c substitute (- 2, 1) into the partial equation

- 1 = - 1 + c ⇒ - 1 + 1 = 0

y = 0.5x + 0 , that is

y = 0.5x ← equation of parallel line
