Please help!!!

Where is the mistake?

2x + 3y = 13

y = 2x + 1

1. 2x + 3(2x+1) = 13

2. 2x + 6x + 3 = 13

3. 4x = 16

4. x = 4

5. y = 2(4) + 1

6. y = 9

Answer:

The mistake is 3. 4x = 16 it should've been 8x=10. Add 2x and 6x together and subtract 3 on both sides. x=10/8
