Pitch indeed refers to the highness of lowness of a sound. We are able to sense pitch based on the frequency of the sound wave with a higher frequency (more vibrations) having a higher pitch and a lower frequency having a lower pitch.

This is why lighter strings on guitars produce a higher pitch because when struck, they vibrate more as opposed to heavier strings. Rachel is therefore correct.
