so what is the next perfect square after 1400? That's what they are asking.. so I used my calculator to find it..

Explanation:

the square root of 1400= 37.41..... but since we want a perfect square.. take 38 squared.. which is 1444 so now we know.. to add 44 to 1400 .... that's your answer 44
