If you are making 2/4 of the recipe, you multiply 2/3 by 2/4.

2/3×2/4=4/12=1/3

If you are making 2/4 of the recipe, you need 1/3 cups of sugar.

Answer:

4/12 cups

Explanation:

The amount needed is the product of the recipe amount and the amount of a recipe that is being made.

(2/3 cup/recipe)(2/4 recipe) = (2·2)/(3·4) cups = 4/12 cups

__

The fraction can be reduced to 1/3 cup, but we're told not to reduce it.
