  2. Write your two numbers (3 and 6) next to each other as seen in the picture
  3. Then, draw a line on the left side and under the two numbers
  4. Write the greatest factor of the two numbers (3) next to the short line, so the line is dividing the factor and your numbers
  5. Divide your two numbers (3 and 6) by your factor (3) and write your answers under the bigger line (1 and 2).
  6. Multiply the numbers highlighted in yellow (as shown below) together. In this case, the answer is 6: 3 × 1 × 2 = 6
