What most people don't realize is that true peace is won upon the blood that spilled from our own soldiers, sometimes it can be won upon a signing of a document or a friendship of rulers or presidents.
But in history time and time again treaties only last a while before someone comes along and says "why do we have to follow these rules? What can they do to us if we don't follow what we agreed to?"
then you have to go to war with one another to remind that someone that betraying your word has dire consequences, and no choice ever made has had no consequences
