20x-12=48

then add 12 to both sides

20x=60

Now, divide by 20 on both sides.

x=3

4(5x - 3 ) = 48

5x - 3 = 48 / 4

5x - 3 = 12

5x = 12 + 3

5x = 15

x = 15 / 5
