A garment shop earns a profit of ₹100 on every shirt and loss ₹50 on every sale of half pant. (1) The shop sells in a month 50 half shirt and 150 half pants. What is the profit or loss. (2) If the shop owner sells 50 half pants in a month, how many shirts he has to sell to earn a profit of ₹5000 per month. (please explain the 2 Question answer carefully)​

a. The profit or loss is

= ₹100 × 50 shirts + -₹50 × 150 half pants

= ₹5,000 - ₹7,500

Let us assume the money needed is x

So, the equation would be

- ₹2,500 + x = ₹5,000

x = ₹5,000 + ₹2,500

= ₹7,500

Now the number of shirts required is

= ₹7,500 ÷ 100 shirts
