Answer:

1.) Allies threatened Germans with a military invasion to get them to sign the treaty. After four years of war and sacrifice, German citizens felt humiliated to accept blame for the war and territorial loss.

2.) Clemenceau stood for reparations, a transfer of colonies, strict rules to prevent a rearming process, as well as the restitution of Alsace–Lorraine, which had been annexed to Germany in 1871.

3.) In public, Clemenceau agreed with Wilson's aim for a fair and lasting peace. Wilson wanted peace without revenge. Lloyd George wanted to please the British people by punishing Germany and getting money to fulfill his postwar goals. Clemenceau wanted to weaken Germany so that it could never threaten France again.
