Analysis of a viral genome reveals that it is composed of a double stranded DNA molecule containing 24% T (thymine). Based on this information, what would be the percentage of cytosine

All the thymine(T) pairs with adenine(A) this means that we have the same number of thymine and adenine nucleotides, and the same percentage, hence we have 24% adenine

100-24-24=52%

This 52% is made of guanine and cytosine. We know that all the guanine and cytosine are paired together so we have the same numer of cytosine and guanine bases

2C=52

C=52/2

C=26% cytosine

Step-by-step explanation:

Remember that Adenine and Thymine nucleotides have the same number whereas Cytosine and Guanine have the same number.

Therefore there is:

24% of Adenine

100% - 24% * 2 = 52% of Cytosine + Guanine

52% / 2 = 26% of Cytosine.
