Richard has 15 apples. He gave Pam 5/2 of them to bake a pie. How many apples did he give to Pam?

Answer:

2.5 or 2 1/2 apples.

Explanation:

5/2 simplified will be 2.5 or 2 1/2.

If you look into it further, because Richard had 15 apples, you subtract 2 1/2 apples he gave Pam which would leave him with 12.5 or 12 1/2. But really the answer is two and a half apples.
