Population Pyramid

Next, use the Internet to find an image of a recent population pyramid for the country you chose and insert it into the space provided. Then, write a short explanation of what the pyramid shows, including the basic shape of the pyramid and what that shape says about the population growth rate of the country.

Country chosen: Botswana

Botswana is a southern African country with a relatively small estimated population of 2,352,000 in 2020. Their population Pyramid is Expansive in shape which means that it is wider at the bottom and smaller at the top which indicates that there are more young people than old in the country.

It points to a higher fertility rate than life expectancy which means more babies are born vs people living to very old age which means that the population growth rate is relatively high.

It would also appear that the population of both males and females are more or less balanced but women on average live longer than men judging by the higher proportion of women compared to men in the older age bars.
