Explanation:

0 = sqrt(x - 4) + 3 Set equation equal to 0

-3 = sqrt(x - 4). Subtract 3 from both sides

the principle square root will only output positive values, since if it every outputted a negative value it would not be a function since a function cannot have 2 outputs for the same input.
