Even though I don't see it explained anywhere, it seems that what looks like the coordinates of two points is really the coordinates of the first point and the translation.

That means that (-9, 6) is the original point.

(5, -2) is the translation which is a translation of 5 in x and a translation of -2 in y.

Start with (-9, 6)

Apply the translation to x and y (-9 + 5, 6 + (-2))

You get (-4, 4)

Answer: (-4, 4)
